My First Funny Story

One of the joys of being a teacher is that the kids do and say funny things every day! It's the greatest! Well here is my first funny story, and it wasn't even a kid, it was an uncle.
On Thursday I had one of the little girls in my class come in, she was followed by her uncle who was a younger single guy. He introduced himself and said that the parents were out of town at a wedding. He then asked what they were supposed to do at one of these tings(referring to the open house) to which I replied that the open house was actually tomorrow (Friday). He asked if they could look around anyways, which I said would be fine. I helped the girl find her desk and showed her what was inside it. We talked about her lemonade stand. As they were leaving (but not yet out the door) the uncle said loudly enough to be heard by me "your mom told us the wrong day, now that's not embarrassing at all." I chuckled as they walked out the door.
I look forward to funny little moments like these, hopefully from now on it will be with the kids : ) I will be sure to share the best ones here on the blog!

  1. I can't wait to hear all about them! I wish I would have posted and written down all the funny things that happened to me...like getting kicked out of the hallway for being at a locker and kicked off the soccer field during Christmas break-no one ever believed I was a teacher and a coach...not a student! Good luck! I am so happy for you!
