So Far So Good

SO far so good. I feel like there is never enough time in the day, but it will all work out somehow. Specials start tomorrow so that will be good! Hallelujah for prep time! Along with all of the normal first week stuff this week the second grade also has to administer a district pretest for the year. I have felt horrible having my kids testing for over and hour each day, but the tests have to be turned in on Monday so there is not much of a choice. I tried to make it up to them by spending some time playing some fun games today. I am looking forward to being able to get into a more normal schedule and getting into the curriculum. If one thing is certain it is the fact that a teacher's work is never done : ) I moved in to my new place last night, I fear that it may take me a little longer to unpack this year than it has in years past. I guess it might have something to do with this teaching thing that seems to take up so much time. Eventually I will be all moved in and in more of a routine here at school - I'm looking forward to that!

  1. The planning, grading, reading, testing, etc, etc, etc... gets easier; don't get down on yourself. However, it usually takes the first year to figure out how to SIMPLIFY! Try not to stay at work too late and make sure you find time to exercise and eat right...it makes a difference! Even if you just go on a walk or jog for 20 min/day, it helps to clear your mind and make the workload easier to handle. You can do it!
